TI-84 Plus Silver Edition
How and why will we be using these calculators?
It is essential to know how to do all the things we learn in class with pencil and paper, without a calculator.
We will also learn how to be more efficient by using a Ti-84 calculator. Students are allowed to use a calculator on many important tests such as the SAT and some AP exams.
Our classroom will be equipped with a set of Ti-84 Plus Silver Edition calculators for use during class. These are not to be taken from the classroom for any reason. Students might consider purchasing their own Ti-84 calculator for class. The Ti-84 is a very commonly used graphing calculator in high school and also at the college level. If you shop around, you can usually find these for around $100.
The TI-83 Plus and the TI-84 Plus family are allowed for use on the PSAT*, the SAT* Reasoning Test, SAT* Subject Tests and Math Level 1 and 2 Tests, AP* Chemistry exam, AP* Physics exam, AP* Calculus exam and ACT** Test.
